Application

Step 1: Prepare nails

Gently push back the cuticles, file the nails, and lightly roughen them with the buffer. Then clean thoroughly with the cleaning cloth.

Step 2: Choose the right size

Press the press-ons onto your nails to test them and file the edges if necessary for a perfect fit.

Step 3: Glueing & fixing

Stick the adhesive sticker onto the nail, peel off the protective film, and apply the press-ons at a 45° angle. Press firmly for 60 seconds—done! 💅

Removal

Step 1: Apply oil remover

Apply Doonails Remover Oil to the edges of your nails and massage it in well to loosen the adhesive stickers.

Step 2: Soak your nails

Prepare a warm hand bath with remover oil, soap, and, if necessary, remover liquid. Soak your nails for about 10 minutes and carefully lift the press-ons with a rosewood stick.

Step 3: Remove residue & care

Remove any adhesive residue with a file or cotton pad and remover liquid. Finally, apply hand cream and nail oil for extra care. 💅✨

How does it work?

STEP 1 - Prepare your natural nails with a buffer and rosewood stick.

STEP 2 - Clean your natural nails with a cleaning wipe.

STEP 3 - Select the size.

Hold the gel strips over your nails and select the appropriate size.

STEP 4 - Apply the gel strip

STEP 5 - Trim the gel strip

Cut off the excess gel strip close to the tip of the nail.

STEP 6 - Cure the gel strip with a UV LED lamp

Cure for 2 x 60 seconds under the UV LED lamp. Turn the nails occasionally to the right and left to ensure that the edges of the nails are also cured optimally.

STEP 7 - File the gel strips into shape

It is best to always file in one direction - from the sides to the center of the nail.

Can UV gel strips extend my nails?

UV gel strips cannot extend your nails on their own—they are designed to be applied to your natural nails, giving them a gel-like look that lasts.

However, you can of course use our fake tips to extend your nails and then apply the UV gel strips over them. This will give you beautiful nail extensions with a gel finish – without any liquid gel or complicated modeling.

How long do the strips last unopened?

After opening, you should store them in an airtight container in a dark place to prevent premature hardening – ideally using the sticker provided in the UV gel strip packaging. As long as you don't remove the UV gel strips from their packaging and protect them from sunlight, they will last for over 2 years.

How do I remove my gel strips?

Natural nails: Apply some remover oil to the edges of your nails and massage it in well. Then add some warm water, 1-2 pipettes of remover oil, and 2 pumps of soap to a bowl and soak your nails in it for about 10 minutes. Meanwhile, use the rosewood stick to gently lift the gel strips until they come off the nail.

I have damaged/brittle nails. Can I still use the strips?

Well-groomed and beautiful hands start with healthy nails. We therefore recommend that you give your nails a break and take care of them first.
However, if you still want to use our gel strips, you can of course do so. They are much gentler than a classic gel manicure at a nail salon, as they do not involve drilling or filing down the top layer of the nail. Furthermore, our strips do not contain any harmful ingredients.
Our Doonails UV gel strips in particular can help to stabilize your nails and protect them from
further breakage.

Tip: For better adhesion, you should smooth your nails with a buffer before applying the strips – without roughening them.

Can I also use them for pedicures?

We offer special UV gel strips for pedicures—you can find all designs here.

Since toenails are often wider than fingernails, we do not recommend using manicure strips for pedicures. Stretching the strips widthwise can affect their durability and is not recommended.

Is the UV lamp harmful?

No, the Doonails UV lamp is not harmful. Our gel strips only need a very small amount of UV light to cure, and the lamp supplied is only 6W – significantly weaker than conventional studio lamps or even natural sunlight. One minute in the sun exposes you to more UV radiation than our lamp.

Important: Avoid doing your gel strip manicure outdoors – sunlight can accidentally cure the strips in seconds.
If you have particularly sensitive skin or want to be on the safe side, you can wear special gloves that leave only your fingertips exposed during application, or apply UVA/UVB spectrum sunscreen about 20 minutes before your manicure. However, avoid applying sunscreen to your nails so as not to affect the durability of the gel strips. Everyone should be aware of the potential risks and can decide for themselves whether this manicure method is the right choice for them.

I have allergies: Can I still use the strips?

No need to worry! Our gel strips contain neither HEMA nor DI-HEMA and are therefore suitable for people with allergies.

Can I use the gel strips on natural nails of any length, whether short or long?

Yes! Our gel strips are longer than most on the market and are therefore also suitable for particularly long natural nails. But they can also be used on short natural nails without any problems. Due to their extra length, one gel strip is even enough for two applications.
