Dipping Powder
Dipping Powder
The Dipping Powder System is a combination of powders and liquids that promises quick and easy salon-beautiful nails and a natural nail enhancement that lasts for a long time without a UV lamp!
Dipping Powder can be used on your natural nails as well as on artificial tips. Our powders are finely milled to guarantee perfectly smooth, even and clean results.
With a colour palette of over 90 shades, you can create your own set from your favourite colours. Our products are vegan, cruelty-free and 7 free.
Take a look at all the benefits of Dipping Powder here .
One colour powder can be used for up to 30 full applications. This is based on 2 layers of colour per application.
It is always an individual decision whether to take a break between manicures. If your nails are not used to a long-lasting manicure at the beginning, we recommend that you take a break of 3 days between manicures.
Our Nail Oil intensively moisturises your nails and cuticles. Please do not apply any other polish or nail hardener during the break.
Yes, you can use Doonails not only on long nails, but also on short nails.
Our products have all been tested several times and are KVO-compliant, which means that they are safe.
Nevertheless, I would advise you to avoid long-lasting manicures such as dipping powder, gel, Shellac etc. if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. If you do decide to use them, I would recommend that you discuss this with your doctor in advance.
Ghost Clear is just the thing for a natural nail look.
The transparent powder gives your nails a beautiful shine and makes them glow.
There are also many French / nude colours that only have a very light shade.
Of course. You can use gel to create a nail extension and apply the dipping powder to the gel nails as normal.
As you have a gel layer underneath, the base powder is not absolutely necessary. You can start directly with the colour powder.
Natural. You can create a natural nail enhancement with the Doonails and apply nail polish over them at any time.
If you want a very quick colour change and don't have time to fill in your Doonails manicure, you can simply paint over it once with nail polish.
The base powder is not a must, but it does provide protection. As the first layer, it protects the nail from any discolouration.
The base powder can also be used again as the last layer after the colour powder so that the colour result does not change or fade due to the subsequent filing and shaping. We recommend this especially for glitter and metallic colours.
If you prefer a dipping manicure with more than 3 coats, you can use Base Powder under the two colour coats to build up.
Dipping Powder is not suitable for children.
The powder and liquids should not be inhaled, swallowed or spilt by children.
Our Dipping Powder products are professional nail products packaged in user-friendly kits for home use and should be kept away from children.
The powder in the tin itself is always very light in colour and at first glance does not look like the result on the nails.
Our pictures in the shop are unprocessed and adjusted to 2 layers of colour. Colours look different on nails depending on the light (daylight or studio light). We have tried to capture the colours in all possible variations.
In addition, the colours on pictures may vary depending on the screen. (Brightness, night mode)
Here you will find an overview of all the ingredients in the individual products:
Our products are lab-tested for safety and meet the strictest European cosmetic standards. We have carried out various tests to ensure that they are safe - both for your skin and for your nails. The ingredients are clearly listed on the packaging so you know exactly what you are using.
We attach particular importance to avoiding problematic ingredients. For example, we deliberately do not use benzoyl peroxide, which can be found in some powders and acrylic powders. This substance can trigger sudden allergies and attack the cuticles.
Our products contain neither HEMA nor DI-HEMA and are therefore also a good choice for people who are allergic to gel products.
If you are allergic to acrylic, we recommend that you do not use our products.
Before use, we recommend that you take a quick look at the ingredients. Everyone can react differently to cosmetics - this also applies to nail products.
We have our own starter sets for starting with dipping powder. We recommend choosing one of the Starter Sets to get you started. These contain everything you need for a simple dipping powder manicure from home.
It could be that your symptoms are what is known as ‘dip flu’. Some users of the dipping system experience symptoms such as a cold and watery eyes. This is a reaction to the vapours from the base coat and top coat.
Here are some tips on how to avoid these symptoms:
- Ensure good ventilation. It is important to carry out the application in a well-ventilated area.
- Ensure adequate lighting. Avoid leaning over the nail when applying the liquids as this can increase the likelihood of a reaction.
- Use a mask. If you are particularly sensitive or perform manicures frequently, wearing a mask can help.
We would like to emphasise at this point that Dip-Flu is not a specific reaction to our products, but to the composition of Base & Top Coat in the dipping system. This means that reactions can also occur with other dipping products and brands.
If you experience strong reactions, we advise against further use.
Your safety is very important to us!
This is harmless and can happen with any manicure method if the nails are still slightly damp from washing your hands before application or if the layers in the area lift slightly and air gets underneath.
By washing your hands before and after application, moisture collects underneath and the nail turns slightly green. Simply leave to dry and the greenie will grow out again on its own.
As soon as the greenie has grown out, you can continue with Doonails as normal.
However, if you are unsure whether it is a nail fungus, I would advise you to seek advice from a pharmacy.
Yes, our dipping powder products are free from formaldehyde and 7free.
Our Dip Powder products are 7free & vegan.
The ingredients in our products have all been dermatologically tested and are subject to the strictest European cosmetic standards. Of course, it is always possible that someone may have an individual reaction to one of the ingredients, as is the case with other cosmetics.
If you have an allergy to other nail products, this does not necessarily mean anything, as our products differ in their ingredients.
If you are generally prone to allergies, you should take a look at the Ingredients on our website.
Please note that our powders are not the same as acrylic powder. Although these two variants are related to a certain extent, they are not the same product.
In contrast to acrylic powder, our powders are much finer in grain size and therefore ideal for dipping (dipping). The result is an even, beautiful surface. In addition, most acrylic powders contain the controversial benzoyl peroxide.
If you are allergic to acrylic, we recommend that you do not use our products.
Here are a few tips on how to avoid a thick or uneven result:
- It is very important to avoid applying too thick a layer of base coat.
- Always work with a very thin S so that the powder can bond optimally when dipping.
- Only use gentle brush movements when removing the excess powder.
- Always wait shortly after dipping.
NO. Our products do not belong to the category of natural cosmetics, just like other long-lasting manicures. So far, it is only possible to produce water-based nail polish that dissolves with every hand wash.
Although our products are not considered natural cosmetics, we attach great importance to the safety of our products as well as possible allergic reactions and similar aspects.
This is generally known in the dipping system. We recommend dipping darker colors in summer. Alternatively, you can simply file off the yellowed top coat, apply Activator again and seal twice with the top coat. The nails are like new.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to add a UV filter to the Dipping Top Coat due to its formulation.
Although our nails are strong, they are also sensitive to long-lasting manicures, similar to treatments in nail salons or with Shellac.
Immediately after the removal of artificial layers, the nails may be temporarily softer. But don't worry, within a short time - often just a few hours or a day - they will become firmer again. Loving care is particularly important during and after the manicure.
Don't forget to take regular breaks to give your nails a breather. When removing the dipping system, be careful not to peel off the layers forcibly. Be gentle on the nail plate and avoid excessive sanding of the natural nail.
Pamper your nails with a rich Nail oil, strengthening nail hardener, nourishing nail serum or nourishing nail cream. Make sure you use high-quality products. Also support your nails from the inside out by considering nutritional supplements for skin, hair and nails.
The glitter or metallic effect can become matt if you file the surface after the Activator. We therefore recommend always dipping another layer of base powder over it to preserve the effect.
Our neon colours, shimmer colours & metallic colours are somewhat denser and more compact than our standard colours. We therefore recommend that you leave the nail in the jar a little longer when dipping in order to optimally absorb the powder.
Alternatively, you can sprinkle the powder over the nail to achieve a perfect result.

Application
The dipping powder is quick and easy to use. The combination of different liquids and the powders allows you to conjure up fantastic manicures. Together with the base powder, the base coat forms the foundation and protects the nails.
- Simply apply the base coat and dip into the base powder.
- Then apply another thin layer of base coat and dip the nail into the colour powder.
- This step is repeated to achieve high coverage.
- The layers are then cured with the Activator.
- The top coat seals the whole thing and gives the nails the perfect shine.
The application does not require a UV lamp for curing. Don't rush between the steps and work your way through nail by nail to get a great result.
Here is our Video for Beginners.
Yes, of course! We have summarised all the video instructions on one page.
Of course you can easily refill your dipping nails!
Take a look at our video, where we explain exactly how to refill a manicure. To the video tutorial
Yes, a pedicure is also possible with Doonails. With the help of the ‘spoon shape’ of the cuticle pusher, you can easily pour the powder over the nails.
To collect the excess powder, you can place the powder jar underneath or use an additional collection container.
We also have video instructions for the pedicure. To the video tutorial
Small, unnoticed errors often creep in during application, which impair adhesion and the result.
Have you already watched our video specifically about Cracks and Chipping?
There you will find lots of tips and tricks, because the right preparation for the manicure is also super important. Here is the link:
Pro tip: To prevent lifting, it is important to apply several coats with flexible nails. The less the flexible nails can move under the layers, the better it will last. You can easily build it up with the transparent base powder so as not to change the colour result.
The dipping powder adheres perfectly to both natural and artificial nails.
It is applied to nail extensions in the same way as it is applied to natural nails.

Doonails Dipping Powder lässt sich am besten mit unserem
Doonails Dipping Powder is best removed with our Remover set. This method is simple, quick and gentle on the nail. The special Doonails remover with almond oil does not dry out the nails.
As dipping powder is not a ‘polish’, it cannot be removed with conventional nail polish remover.
You can find detailed instructions here.
Dipping powder on the toes can also be removed very well with the Remover Films.
Unlike nail polish, dipping powder is a long-lasting manicure with nail salon results and therefore unfortunately cannot be removed with nail polish remover, only with acetone.
For quick and gentle removal, we recommend the Remover Set.
With us, everyone can find the right remover method for them:
Pro Bowl Remover Set
Our remover set Pro is based on the ‘bag method’ inspired by our community. The set consists of a bowl in which the remover liquid is slightly heated, allowing the dipping layers to dissolve in minutes.
Remover Films
The cotton pad of the remover foils is soaked with the remover and placed on the nail. After 10-20 minutes, the layers come off.
Milling Cutter
With our nail cutter pro, the dipping layers can be milled off easily and conveniently.
Our acetone remover is processed for cosmetic use. It is very important to choose cosmetic acetone.
We advise against using acetone that is not clearly labelled for cosmetic use. It may be contaminated and is not suitable for contact with skin or nails.
Liquids
Our Brush Cleaner & Softener cleans and removes unwanted discolouration or residue from your liquid brushes and prevents them from becoming hard. You can simply replace the dirty or sticky brush with the Brush Cleaner & Softener and leave it in the bottle overnight before replacing it.
It is important to dry the brush with a paper towel before replacing it so that the liquids do not come into contact with each other.
To prevent your liquids from sticking or hardening, it is important to clean the brushes of residue after each use. We have also prepared a short video that shows you how to care for your liquids properly.
Have a look here for a detailed application.
Our Primer is particularly suitable for very greasy & moist nails and ensures optimum adhesion. It removes moisture and grease from the nail so that the dipping nails last a long time without cracking or chipping.
The primer is applied in 3 simple steps:
- File your nails as usual to prepare them and remove any cuticles from the nail plate.
- Apply the Doonails Primer to all nails and let it soak in for 2 minutes.
- Then apply the dipping powder as usual.
Your top coat brush has hardened because it has come into contact with the Activator.
Here are some tips to stop your brush from hardening:
- Always observe the drying times of 2 minutes between Activator and Top Coat.
- Before applying the top coat, you can dab the surface dry again with a piece of Zewa or a paper towel.
If your brush is already hard, you can simply swap it with the Brush Saver and leave it in the Brush Saver overnight. The brush will be as good as new the next day.
Before you swap the brushes, please make sure to dry both brushes well so that the two liquids do not mix.
The Top Coat becomes matt or sticky when it comes into contact with the hardening Activator Coat. Therefore, please always observe the waiting times between Activator and Top Coat. Before applying the top coat, you can dry the nail surface again with a paper towel.
If your surface now looks matt, you don't have to remove all the layers again. Simply lightly file off the top coat and apply Activator Coat again. Leave the Activator Coat to dry for at least 2 minutes. The Top Coat is applied twice with a 2-minute break in between to achieve an optimum gloss.
To prevent the neck of the bottle from sticking, please ensure that you always apply the liquid to the same part of the neck of the bottle and remove any liquid residue from the neck of the bottle after application. The base and top coats are cosmetic adhesives which unfortunately immediately clog the neck of the bottle.
There is a trick for opening the bottles again. Simply pour some hot water over the bottle and try to open it with a towel.
We have made a short video on how to properly care for the liquids to prevent them from sticking or becoming hard.
Have a look here.
Approx. 20 applications can be made with each liquid. This can of course vary depending on consumption and the number of layers.
Our bottles have a volume of 17.5ml and are filled with 15.2ml.
Therefore, they are not completely full.
The Activator Coat and Brush Saver have a very liquid consistency like water, whereas the Base and Top Coat are a thick gel and differ in their density.
The bottles are always filled with 15.2 ml, but are not equally heavy, as the Base and Top Coat are heavier in terms of density. Comparable to water and oil. The quantity is always the same in ml, but the grams differ.
When shaken, Activator and Brush Saver do not appear completely full, as they have the consistency of water, whereas Base and Top Coat are thick and you do not hear anything when shaking.
You can also test this by wiping the brush from the Activator onto a piece of paper. You will see that there is enough liquid on the piece of paper and that the piece of paper is also damp.
We make a conscious effort to avoid controversial ingredients, and all our products comply with the guidelines of the Cosmetics Regulation (KVO), which is considered the strictest in the world.
Our liquids are based on cyanoacrylate. Cyanoacrylate is often used in medicine to seal wounds or in eyelash adhesives. Superglue is also based on this substance.
However, the raw materials from which the cyanoacrylate is produced and its composition are crucial.
Your top coat needs the activator to harden in minutes.
It is therefore very important to always apply the activator before applying the top coat.
Make sure to observe the waiting time of 2 minutes between each liquid.
If the top coat is no longer beautiful, you don't have to remove everything. You can simply gently file off the top coat, apply Activator and reseal with the top coat.
The Activator is ‘our UV lamp’ and plays an important role in the application.
Firstly, it hardens your dipping layers and you can then touch up any unevenness with a file or buffer.
Our top coat also needs the activator to harden in minutes. Therefore, always apply the activator before the top coat.
